Background
- Background of working on large-scale high-value transportation projects, mostly in Electronic Systems Engineering and scope management roles.
- Fluent in all areas of the lifecycle of a large long-term project, with time spent on bid-development, project planning and management, design-engineering, V&V, supporting commercial and legal teams, and on-site testing and fault-finding.
- Familiar working with teams across multiple countries (often while based in other countries), and managing interfaces with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Experienced with robust communications networks, such as train control/management systems, train-to-wayside communications, and airport security/management systems.
- Thorough understanding of Ethernet protocols to be able to debug/fault-find using tools such as WireShark.
- Experienced with complex digital and analogue systems (including audio, video, and data), RF transmission systems, electronic hardware design, and both software and embedded firmware design. Experienced both at system integrator level and low-level design / fault-finding.
- Able to write high-quality concise requirements, which can be used to reliably verify and validate a system against.
- Able to write clear and concise reports, test specifications and other documentation. Can articulate detailed technical matters in a form understandable by less technical people.
- Experienced following a safe system of work on site, at day and night (including trains, trams, railways, construction sites and airports).
- Experienced with all the standard Microsoft packages, AutoCAD, DOORS, WireShark, software/firmware compilers and debuggers, electronics/PCB design tools, and configuration control systems.
